Child Abuse Investigations (CAI)

Class Size                Maximum of 50 participants and minimum of 45

 

Program Length     36 Hours (Must attend entire program)

                        (Certificate awarded upon completion of program)

Program Mission    

The purpose of the Child Abuse Investigation training program is to provide participants with the knowledge, understanding, investigative techniques and resources necessary to respond effectively to the unique challenges encountered in family and caregiver child abuse cases.

 

The program topics include:

 

PHYSICAL ABUSE AND NEGLECT OF CHILDREN – Jim Hollar

SEXUAL ABUSE INVESTIGATIONS – Brian Killacky

CONDUCTING THE MULTI-DISCIPLINARY CHILD ABUSE INVESTIGATION – Robert Farley

INTERVIEWING CHILDREN IN CHILD ABUSE CASES – Julie Kenniston

LEGAL ISSUES AND CONSIDERATIONS IN CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT CASES – Paul Tressler

INVESTIGATIVE RESOURCES – Jim Hollar

INTERVIEW/INTERROGATION OF CHILD ABUSE SUSPECT: CRITICAL STEPS FOR SUCCESS – Byron Fassett

 

Target audience 

The targeted audience for this program is law enforcement, child protective services and other juvenile justice system professionals involved in the investigation of child abuse, exploitation and missing children.
