UNSV is an inspiration and a frame for child protection all over the globe. In 2004, ISPCAN developed a partnership with UNSV, allowing experts to innovate tools for research, data collection, observation, capacity building,networking and sharing of expertise. In multiple settings where child is at risk, the Arab region has found in this cooperation an incentive for the development of child protection systems, where child rights could be highlighted in national strategies with culturally sensitive tools.

A report on the recently published two randomized controlled trials of the Period of PURPLE Crying education materials for preventing shaken baby syndrome (abusive head trauma). These are the first SBS prevention materials to have undergone this level of testing.

The Dutch approach with children who are witnesses of domestic violence, a special protocol for workers on ambulances and first aid in hospitals regarding their focus on identifying and reporting suspected child abuse and domestic violence, and the results of our restraining order for perpetrators and the systematic approach of domestic/sexual violence and child abuse.
