Trauma Assessment Pathway (TAP)
Assessment-Based Treatment for Traumatized Children: A Trauma Assessment Pathway (TAP)(c) incorporates a multifaceted assessment process to enable clinicians to gain an in-depth understanding of:
- the child
- their developmental level
- their traumatic experience
- the family, community, and cultural system in which the child lives.
The information is used to effectively:
- triage the child into the best treatment option available
- treat the child and family with the most appropriate intervention using an evidence-based practice, if appropriate
- assist the clinician in making decisions throughout the treatment process.
